Blog for Dec. 21, Merry Christmas

Best Wishes for a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

One of my favorite Christmas memories is from last year. My daughter and I went on a cruise (our first) to Mexico for a week. We swam with the doplins, went snorkeling, and saw the sights. The onboard experience was delightful too. We were pampered for a week which is very unusual for us. I hope to do a cruise again, maybe in August to Alaska, when this Master's work and program is complete.

rI found interesting the news report about the FDA not being able to do their job of being sure our food supply is safe. The FDA needs more money to do the job well. With all the recalls and reports of unsafe foods and products, it seems important that the agency in charge should have what it needs to do the job. There is a fraction against giving the FDA any more money. With a big government agency there will be waste, but a safe food supply is very important. It goes in to rating a school on the test scores from one day of testing. It suggests other steps to be taken before sanctions take over. It mentions a lot of problems with funding, training, fairness, etc. It was worth reading...http://www.nesinc.com/PDFs/2005_15Loucks.pdf
